Hello all!

Hi everyone!

So, like many have done before me and as many are doing now, I am writing a blog to document my time abroad. Yes, I know the title is cheesy, but hey, it's my blog! I'll name it whatever I like.

In case there are people reading this who don't know me (which I highly doubt), I'm a recent graduate of Cornell University who majored in French. I am going to be spending 7 months in France as an English teaching assistant through the Teaching Assistant Program in France (TAPIF). The town I was placed in is called Bagnols-sur-Cèze, which is about 40 minutes from Avignon and an hour and a half from Montpellier. I've included a Google Map for your pleasure. The little A is where my town is.

Needless to say, I'm ridiculously excited about this because despite the fact that I was a French major, I've never actually been to France. I've been dreaming about going since I started learning French in high school. And now I get to finally do it!!! So I hope you all are thoroughly entertained by my posts, which should be starting shortly.

I'm actually writing this in the Hong Kong International Airport, because I was just in Hong Kong for 3 days. I'm actually flying to Chengdu, Sichuan, China today to see family. I'll be in China until September 24th, which is when I fly to Paris! My mom is actually with me for this entire trip to China, and she's even coming with me to France for a week and a half. So any stories I tell include her too. Thanks for reading!
